Hastalloy B.3 Brushes
Widdops Brush are now able to manufacture hand filled brushes filled with specialist metal filaments, in this case the material is Hastalloy B3 (which is also the base material), these are then trimmed to any given size.
Used when 316 stainless steel does not have the corrosion resistance properties required in certain applications, this Nickel-Molybdenum alloy gives excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures from ambient to high.
It also withstands sulphuric, acetic, formic and phosphoric acids and other non oxidizing media. B-3 also has excellent resistance to pitting corrosion and to stress-corrosion cracking.
Hastelloy B-3 is not recommended in the presence of ferric or cupric salts.
