Industrial brush projects often require much more than the brush itself. A complete assembly may include accurately machined shafts, brush holders, fabricated frames, welded components and other specialist parts.

At Widdops Brush, our extensive brush-making knowledge is supported by the wider engineering capabilities of Bentham & Holroyd. This allows us to take projects from an initial drawing or sample through to a complete, finished and inspected component.

Bespoke Industrial Brushes

Industrial brushes perform essential functions across manufacturing, processing and heavy industry. Typical applications include cleaning, sealing, guiding, applying materials, surface finishing and removing debris.

Every application presents different challenges. Factors including the brush material, density, construction, operating speed, temperature and working environment must all be considered.

Widdops Brush can design and manufacture bespoke industrial brushes to meet individual customer requirements. We support everything from replacement brushes for existing machinery to specialist brush assemblies for new equipment and production processes.

Precision Machining to Tight Tolerances

The performance of an industrial brush assembly often depends upon the accuracy of its associated components. Shafts, cores, holders and mounting arrangements must be manufactured correctly to ensure reliable fitting, alignment and operation.

Supported by Bentham & Holroyd’s engineering expertise, we can provide CNC and conventional machining to tight tolerances and precise customer specifications. Components can be produced from customer drawings, existing samples or details developed during the design process.

Careful inspection throughout manufacture helps ensure that critical dimensions are maintained. This is particularly important where a brush must fit into existing equipment or interface accurately with other moving components.

Specialist Coded Welding Expertise

Some industrial brush applications also require fabricated frames, supports, brackets or specialist welded assemblies.

Our access to coded welding expertise means these components can be manufactured to approved procedures and customer requirements. Skilled welders produce strong, consistent and traceable welds across a variety of materials and component types.

Machining and welding can also be combined within the same project. Components may be prepared before fabrication and finish-machined after welding to achieve the required dimensions, fit and surface finish.

This joined-up approach reduces the need to transfer work between several suppliers and gives us greater control over the finished assembly.

Complete Brush and Engineering Assemblies

By combining specialist brush manufacture with precision machining and coded welding, Widdops Brush can provide complete engineered solutions rather than an individual brush alone.

Using one supplier for the complete project can offer several advantages:

  • Fewer suppliers and purchase orders to manage
  • Reduced transportation and handling
  • Clearer communication throughout the project
  • Improved control of dimensions and interfaces
  • Shorter and more predictable lead times
  • One point of contact from initial enquiry to final inspection

Whether you require a replacement brush, a modified assembly or a completely new solution, our team can assess the application and recommend a suitable design and manufacturing route.
