Widdops stitch brush

With over 100 years of experience in the brush manufacturing industry, our stitch brushes are still being made today using traditional hand-stitch methods.

Stitch brushes, or hand-stitched brushes, are also known as ‘hand-drawn’ brushes because they are created by stitching or winding the filament into the holder by hand – using a continuous metal wire to hold the filament in place, offering a durable and hard-wearing finish.

A hand-filled stitch brush is often chosen as an alternative to punched-in brushes or brush strip when the filament must have a more secure anchor and stay in the brush without falling away. This makes the stitch brush and hand-drawn brushes popular in the water treatment, food processing, recycling and waste management industries.

Corrosion-resistant stitch brushes

If you need something long-lasting, corrosion-resistant and custom-made, our hand-made stitch brushes are the perfect solution.

Widdops are now able to manufacture hand-filled stitch brushes filled with specialist metal filament. Our metal stitch brush material is the highly corrosion-resistant Hastelloy B3, which is also the base material. The stitch brushes are then trimmed to any given size, this material is used when 316 stainless steel does not have the resistance properties required in certain applications.
