Widdops Punch Brush
Often called a staple set brush, or punched knot brush, a Widdops punch brush can be customised to your specifications.
Punched-in brushes are brushes where the filament is stapled in tufts into pre-drilled holes on the brush body made of plastic or wood – hence the name staple set brush. Staple set brushes, or punch brushes, come in a near limitless range of shapes and sizes, but are most typically manufactured as rollers, discs, flat pads or blocks.

Due to the more diverse choice of body shapes, bristle patterns and configurations, punch brushes are a popular alternative to hand drawn brushes, strip brushes and wrapped roller brushes, where more specific and custom applications are required.
Staple set brushes are more suited to applications where a less dense brush may be required than a wrapped roller brush, as the tuft pattern can be configured both around the circumference and down the length of the body.
Punch Brush Applications
Punched-in brushes are mostly used for cleaning purposes, but are suitable for use in a variety of applications. Punch brushes are a popular choice due to the custom shapes, sizes and configurations available. A custom punch brush from Widdops can be designed to the customer’s exact end requirements.
Other punch brush applications include material handling, water treatment, polishing and deburring, food processing, label application, and product supports.
Punch Brush Sizes
Widdops manufactures custom punch brushes with flat pads and rollers, designed according to our customers’ requirements. We are also not as limited to the width of the punch brush we can create, which means that we can supply a punch brush in sections up to three metres long and a trimmed filament length of 400mm.
Due to handling and delivery restrictions, punch brushes are restricted to an approximate maximum size oft hree metres long by 700mm outer diameter.
