We custom-make every medical brush to our exceptionally high standards to ensure each brush can withstand the medical and pharmaceutical environments.
Our custom brushes are used for a variety of applications, including pill-cleaning auger brushes, pill sorting brushes, packaging brushes for blister packs, medical instrument cleaning brushes and medical device cleaning brushes. Our hand drawn brushes are ideal for these applications thanks to their robust construction, which prevents bristle strands from coming loose and contaminating the product.
We also offer a range of hygienic medical brushes that are suitable for use in FDA-controlled environments. Our pharmaceutical brushes are manufactured from materials that are resistant to cleaning chemicals and moisture absorption to inhibit bacteria growth. Our Medical cleaning brushes can be made with additional protection from bacteria by a silver-plated backing strip.
Medical Brush Filaments
Widdops create custom brushes made to your specifications, but we advise using these filaments for our medical cleaning brushes.
POLYPROPYLENE
Polypropylene is a versatile low-cost filament with little moisture or odour absorption. Polypropylene is also one of the most chemically resistant synthetic filaments, unaffected by most solvents, oils and acids – an ideal material for medical cleaning brushes.
POLYESTER (PBT)
Polyester is hard-wearing and has excellent sweeping qualities and a negligible water absorption rate. Polyester PBT loses hardly any rigidity when being used in wet conditions – it is also resistant to mildew, bacteria and fungus growth, which is required for medical cleaning brushes.
